I have successfully purged the responsible save data loaded variable and I am making sure that I know exactly when and how all calls are being made to commit more tightly controlled save files to the save slot. This will continue tomorrow. I will also need to spend some time on readability, renaming a lot of these functions because many have morphed beyond their initial poor names.
Still lots of functions and variables to be looked into and hopefully removed or replaced now that Iām looking back at this game mode with a year of experience in the engine and a better idea of what I want the game to be.
