Project #9 Day #16

8 hours, stoney stabbers! Final enemy(?) is in the game, but probably not perfectly functional. Spent like 5 hours locked in, brain is mush. Prepare for poor journal entry.

Damage calc is now done on the player. Special case damage scenarios, ones that provoke a reaction from damage dealer are triggered via the player character as well, those are all in. Tesla coils are doing better. Redid what part of the obstacle deals damage. Redid connection detection. When toggled on they will now link to one another even if they come in range in the middle of the on period. You can break em. They will also remove linking when they leave range or become misaligned with one another. Stoney stabbers are in the game now. They are big goobers that stand off the side and stab in when the player appears in front of them. I made them all in one 3 hours chunk so I don't have great notes. They mostly work, they break when they hit you. My head is mess. They have a hit box that comes and goes. That's new for me, and important. The follower and the follower receiver and now both in the instantiator. Sprite thievery, etc. Today was unpleasantly intense, did not eat much, but these stoney stabbers sure seem to work.
